The Italian comeback after 16 years, with a three-days event dedicated to digital animation

The next edition of Cartoon Italia, a European event dedicated to the digital strategies in the animation field, will take place in Cagliari from the 21st to the 23rd of May.

The news was anticipated by Nevina Satta, director for the Sardinia Film Commission, at the latest edition of “MIA- Mercato Internazionale dell’Audiovisivo” – during a meeting between the various Film Commisions and Cartoon Italia, with the intention to create an higer education and production lab dedicated to the animated production in Sardinia.

Manifattura Tabacchi will be the location for the European master and the Italian Days- It will host meetings about writing, production, storytelling and effective techniques on how to  properly present a project.
Speakers like Luca Milano and Annita Romanelli for RAI ragazzi, Anne- Sophie Vanhollebeke for Cartoon Italia, Nevina Satta for Sardinia Film Commission, the writer, novelist and director Igort and many more will partecipate to the program.

This brings a significant contribute to the cinematographic scene in the island, especially to the animation field. A branch that, since 2015 is the star of a dedicated international festival: the Bosa Animation Awards. It praises a rich selection of shortmovies coming from every part of the world, screenings, meeting with the creators, kids lab and masterclasses with experts in the field: these are the peculiar moments of this event hosted by the caracteristic village.
